Suitable for seawater

We understand the importance of low maintenance and high durability out on the seas where salt and corrosion is a factor.

FIREMIKS is available with the water motor entirely made of Ni-Al Bronze or Stainless steel 316L, to make it suitable for offshore, shipping and other installations where seawater is used.

The gear pumps on our type - GP are made of SS as standard. The piston pumps on our type - PP have good corrosion resistance and selected models can also be delivered in with stainless steel pump heads.

SELECTED LINE FM-APPROVED

FIREMIKS has achieved FM approval (Standard 5130 - May 2021) for three flow sizes: 1800, 2400, and 4000 lpm with a 3% dosing rate. This certification applies to units equipped with water motors in either Hard-Anodized Aluminum or Ni-Al Bronze. FM recognizes these units as Variable Viscosity Pump Proportioners.

Suitable for High‑Viscosity and Fluor‑Free (SFFF) Concentrates

FIREMIKS is uniquely positioned by being able to offer two types of pumps:

Piston pump models for viscosity from 1 cP (including wetting agents) up to around 4500-5000 cP and Gear pump models up to around 8000 cP*.

Piston pump models excel in systems with low start-up flows relative to their maximum flow rate, making them ideal for applications like sprinkler systems.

Gear pump models are highly effective for handling very high-viscosity fluids and are also particularly efficient in applications operating at the higher end of the maximum flow rate, such as full flow systems and large fire monitors.

*Viscosity measured at 30 rpm using a Brookfield viscometer with spindle #4.

Wide Range of Flow Capacities

Models from 180 lpm to 10,000 lpm, engineered for corrosive marine environments

FIREMIKS offers a broad selection of flow capacities for marine and offshore fire‑protection systems. Standard models range from 180 lpm to 10,000 lpm, with intermediate flow sizes including 450, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1800, 2400, 3200, 4500, 6000, and 8000 lpm.

For demanding saltwater and offshore conditions, all water motors are manufactured in Ni‑Al Bronze, and the associated piping and couplings are supplied in AISI 316 stainless steel. Custom flow sizes can be built on request.

Flexible Proportioning Options

Fixed or selectable dosing rates for a wide range of marine foam concentrates

Standard fixed dosing rates include 1% and 3%, with custom options available such as 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 2%, and 6%.
For vessels and offshore platforms handling multiple concentrate types, models with selectable proportioning are available with settings such as:

0.3% / 0.6% / 1%
1% / 2% / 3%
0.5% / 1% / 3%

Concentration selection is performed quickly and safely using integrated shut‑off valves, ideal for systems requiring operational flexibility.

Parallel Installations for High‑Capacity Marine Systems

Scalable configurations delivering up to 20,000 lpm

For large marine and offshore fire‑water systems, FIREMIKS units can be installed in parallel to achieve capacities of up to 20,000 lpm.

These configurations can be delivered as:

Base‑mounted dual systems, or
Vertical “double‑deck” arrangements for space‑restricted engine rooms or pump rooms

Standard high‑capacity configurations include 12,000 lpm, 16,000 lpm, and 20,000 lpm.

Third‑Party Verification by DNV

Independent witnessing of FAT testing to relevant marine standards

For marine and offshore clients requiring documented verification, FIREMIKS can be supplied with DNV‑witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to applicable sections of:

DNV standards
NFPA 11
FM 5130
EN 13565‑1

An optional complete dosing‑rate test system is also available, supporting compliance with ship classification societies and offshore regulations.
