FM‑Approved Models

Seven FIREMIKS models are FM‑approved (FM 5130, May 2021) for Variable Viscosity Pump Proportioners at 3% dosing. Approval applies to water motors made from Hard‑Anodized Aluminum or Ni‑Al Bronze, covering the following maximum viscosities (shear rate 5 l/s):

450 & 800 lpm: up to 3934 cP
1800, 2400 & 4000 lpm: up to 6422 cP
6000 & 8000 lpm: up to 7288 cP

FM recognizes these units as Variable Viscosity Pump Proportioners suitable for viscosities up to 6422 cP (shear rate 5 l/s).

Designed for High‑Viscosity and Fluor‑Free (SFFF) Concentrates

Two pump types optimized for modern foam technologies

FIREMIKS supports both traditional concentrates and the latest SFFF (synthetic fluorine‑free foam) formulations, thanks to two purpose‑engineered pump technologies:

Piston pump models: Suitable for viscosities from 1 cP up to 5,000–7,000 cP. Ideal for systems with low start‑up flows, including sprinkler installations

Gear pump models: Suitable for even higher viscous foam
Optimized for high‑flow systems such as deluge, monitors, and full‑flow operations

*Viscosity measured at 30 rpm using a Brookfield viscometer, spindle #4.

Wide Range of Flow Capacities

Models from 180 lpm up to 10,000 lpm — with custom sizes on request

FIREMIKS offers an extensive portfolio of water‑driven proportioners to match the requirements of industrial systems of all sizes.

Standard models range from 180 lpm to 10,000 lpm, with intermediate capacities including 450, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1800, 2400, 3200, 4500, 6000, and 8000 lpm.

For specialized applications, custom flow sizes are available, including units equipped with Ni‑Al Bronze water motors for corrosive or seawater‑based environments.

Parallel Installations for High‑Capacity Systems

Flow rates up to 20,000 lpm using dual‑unit configurations

For facilities requiring higher flow capacities, FIREMIKS can be installed in parallel configurations, either on a common base skid or in a compact stacked “double‑deck” arrangement.
Standard high‑capacity packages include:

16,000 lpm
20,000 lpm

This provides a scalable, robust solution for large industrial fire‑water systems, monitors, and deluge applications.

Flexible Proportioning Options

Standard 1% and 3% dosing — with configurable or selectable settings

For fixed proportioning, we offer as standard dosing rates of 3% or 1%, with
custom options available upon request, for example: 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 2%,
and 6%.

Models with selectable proportioning are available with settings of 0.3%,
0.6% and 1%, or 1%, 2%, and 3%, with some models offering 0.5%, 1%, and 3%.
Selecting the admixture percentage is easy with the help of shut-off
valves.

THIRD-PARTY VERIFICATION BY DNV

Third‑party witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)

Upon request, FIREMIKS units can be supplied with DNV third‑party verification of Factory Acceptance Tests, according to relevant sections of:
